| UCUniverse Administrator | 27-08-2009 | | | Youth Incentives is looking for young, enthusiastic advisors for her Youth Advisory Group (YAG) | | Dinu Abdella was kind enough to send us this call for youth advisors at the Youth Advisory Group / Rutgers Nisso Group some of you might be interested in. Thanks Dinu!
-------------------------------------
Do you want to make a difference in the World….?
Youth Incentives is looking for young, enthusiastic advisors for her Youth Advisory Group (YAG)
Youth Incentives (YI) is the international programme on youth and sexuality of the Rutgers Nisso Groep (RNG), the Expert Centre on Sexuality in the Netherlands.
Objectives of the YAG
• We hope to encourage more young people to get interested in sexual and reproductive health and rights issues. • We dream about a world with less unwanted pregnancies, less sexual transmitted infections, less sexual violence. • We believe that with the help of young people from all over the world it is possible to make a difference; a world where people live consciously, responsibly and healthily. A world that recognizes and respects the sexual rights of all young people regardless of age, gender, nationality, ethnic background and/or sexual preference. • We strongly believe that these goals can only be achieved when young people are actively involved in the planning and design of youth development programs all over the world. So become a YAG-member and make a difference!
What can members expect from YAG?
• A link with other members all over the world • A virtual place to share experiences • An opportunity to be informed about activities concerning sexuality, sexual reproductive health services and youth • Use of our vast network e.g. come into contact with possible donors for your own projects • The opportunity to develop yourself personally and professionally • The link with partner organizations in our project countries (Tanzania, Malawi, Mali, Rwanda & Bangladesh) • Up to date material on sexual reproductive health & sexuality. • The Youth Incentives Newsletter.
What is Youth Incentives expecting from the YAG members?
• We are expecting their consultation and advice in developing projects • Input from their experiences in some project activities that we have • Feedback on projects and material we develop • Promote Youth Incentives, in the hope of establishing networks with new (youth) organizations. • Attendance during our bi-annual Conference (October 2010) on ‘Sexuality and Young people’ in the Netherlands.
Some experiences from current YAG members:
“I joined the YAG because I knew it was a chance to get to know how people deal with the same spectrum of problems (HIV and drug addiction prevention, sexuality education, etc.) all over the world, and to get useful advice from the Dutch party (Youth Incentives) who are in the forefront of tackling those issues”
“YAG is about sharing ideas, opinions and experiences…. The most exciting thing was participating in the Conference in 2008, speaking in front of the big audience” (Mikhail Zelensky, Russia)
“Having the chance to share and experience what other young people do in other parts of the world has helped me to widen my knowledge, and be an agent of change when it comes to SRH&R to young people” (Omari Muhani, Tanzania) GENERAL INFORMATION
Youth Incentives (YI) is the international programme on youth and sexuality of the Rutgers Nisso Groep, the Expert Centre on Sexuality in the Netherlands.
